Fun Activities | Games In Quarantine | Ideas for Birthday Celebration | India Against Coronavirus

Fun-Activities-in-covid-19

Bored being at home? Here’s a list of all the games or fun activities that you can probably do in this lockdown or Quarantine Phase! All you need is a WhatsApp group which could either be your family WhatsApp group or it may just include your friends with whom you can share & play along! So one by one I am going to list out all of the activities along with their rules. So that even you can have fun trying them out!

So what are you waiting for?

So the very first fun activity that you can do is create some fun lip-sync videos. Yes, That’s right! Trust me you do not have to leave your premises to do that. All you need is a mobile or laptop to merge these videos. Initially discuss a song in a group who is willing to do this. It could be any Bollywood number or related to some theme. Then you can divide the video duration among the group members asking each of them to send their individual lip-sync videos. Anyone of the members of the group, can do the merging of the videos by using Windows Movie Maker or invideo. Do try it out! It will be very fun. Here’s how our turned out to be:-

Activity 2

In the second fun activity you can play ‘Antakshari’ in your family & friends group! Trust me it’s another great fun activity & you can even get to know the various singing talents in your group members. Here’s how to play without leaving your home in COVID-19:

  1. One of the people from the group can start the ‘Antakshari’ by recording any song that he/she would like to sing.
  2. At the end of the video the person can nominate the next member in the group by declaring the letter with which the next person has to sing.
  3. Then the nominated person will have to do the same by making sure that the song does not get repeated.

You can later merge the video and it will be fun to watch the final versions. Here’s a small insight of how my video turned out to be:

Activity 3

Another activity / Game that you can probably play is a movie guessing game where one person has to draw the props or any famous object which is used in that movie and people will have to guess it. Every person who has guessed it right gets 5 points. And you can maintain a scoreboard which will be calculated after every movie is revealed. The person who has made the image can nominate people in the group in an order.

For all the wrong answers the person who has given the movie gets the point. You can also keep a few hints if the movie is tough & people are not able to figure it out and after every hint you can deduct their point by 1 each time they ask for a hint. It could be really fun to see everyone’s drawing skills! Here are few ideas:-

Activity 4

The next fun activity or a game that you can probably play is a challenge game or activity in this COVID 19. Every person is good at something or the other. Some people are good at gardening, painting, art n craft, cooking, etc.

Any person in the group can make something at home and record the method of how they have done it & challenge anyone in the group to do the same. That person with the items available at his/her home can try to replicate the same or create even better output. This could help people to let them know about their interests & explore more about themselves. It could be another fun engaging activity.

Talking about these fun activities reminds me of the fact that there are many people whose birthdays & anniversaries are falling in this phase and are unable to celebrate it due to lockdown. If you people want to still surprise your loved ones in such lockdown times. Here’s how you can do it & make it fun!!!

Special Occasions in Lockdown

Talking about these fun activities reminds me of the fact that there are many people whose birthdays & anniversaries are falling in this phase and are unable to celebrate it due to lockdown. If you people want to still surprise your loved ones in such lockdown times. Here’s how you can do it & make it fun!!!

You can collect wishes from everyone in the form of a video. Merge those wishes & make a nice homely video using Invideo & Windows Movie Maker. Later you can play the video at midnight, or if the person is not with you, you can either send them the youtube link or either you can play it on a video call. This could be really nice as in lockdown we are unable to meet our friends & relatives. Getting them together in a video all at once @ 12 can be really warm and sweet!

B' Day and Anniversary Celebration in Lockdown

Another idea is that you can ask people to click a picture by holding a balloon with a single or double alphabet written on the balloon depending on the number of people willing to get themselves clicked. In case of unavailability of balloons you can ask them to write the alphabet in a banner or a paper. Then one of you could prepare a collage arranging all the alphabets in order!

Here’s an example of how you can do it:-

Preparing a Cake for your "Loved One"

The next idea is that you can simply make a cake to surprise your loved one since we cannot go out to buy a cake for them. As we all know it’s not even safe to buy it from outside. Don’t worry I will just write down one easy recipe for you!

Ingredients that you will need:

  • 2 Packet of Oreo Biscuit (20 biscuits vanilla flavor)
  • Sugar Powder
  • Milk
  • Vanilla Essence ( Optional)
  • Toothpick
  • Half Tablespoon Baking Powder
  • Butter Paper
  • Cake Mould/ Tin/ Silicone Container
  • Half tablespoon butter/oil for greasing.

Method of Preparation

To prepare this easy cake you need to do the following:

  • Grind the oreo biscuit in a mixer & chopper. Make sure it is finely grounded as there should not be any left chunk.
  • Take out the mixture in a bowl and add 2 tablespoon of sugar powder.
  • Add half cup milk. Make sure the milk that you add is not boiled & neither cold. Then mix everything using a whisker or a hand blender to convert this into a nice creamy batter. Note: make sure the batter is not very thick ( if so then pore a little milk)
  • Add half tablespoon of baking powder & half tablespoon of vanilla essence. ( Adding vanilla essence is optional)
  • Take a Cake tin or any baking mold of your choice which you need to grease it with some oil or butter then you need to cover the base with some butter paper.
  • Now add your batter to this container & pat the container once to let the batter take the shape of the container.
  • Preheat the microwave oven at 180 degrees for 20 minutes and then put the container in the microwave for 10 minutes & the cake is ready. You can check it with the help of the toothpick, if it comes out clean then your cake is soft & completely baked. If not then keep it for another 5 minutes more.
  • If you do not have a microwave oven you can do it in any container with a lid. Just preheat the container for 10 minutes on a low flame. Then put your tin mold which holds your batter inside the preheated container over a stand. Then you can close the lid. After closing the lid let the batter cook for 25-30 minutes. Again you can insert the toothpick to check whether the cake is finely baked or not.
  •  Once it is baked allow it to cool down. In the next step you can either consume it directly or with the help of cream you can decorate it further.

The next idea which is going very viral is that if you want to surprise somebody who is staying with you then you can prepare a food menu for that person’s special day. Your menu can include all the dishes of his/her choice or that you know he/she loves it the most. You can serve those dishes like you are celebrating it in a restaurant! With that you could make the person feel special even in this lockdown!!
